Story behind the song
The second installment of a song I did for a remix competition in the middle of last year. Needless to say, I didn't make the top ten. I'm honestly surprized that this landed as high as it did in the charts, because when I was in the process of adding the lyrics and singing them there was someone who was constantly competing for my time. Therefore, it was rushed and that fact can be heard whenever someone listens to this. Throughout the production process and even now I am left feeling dissatisfied and I'm torn between wanting to either redo it all or to just delete it outright. Basically, what I was trying to capture is the feel for the song. Both the original and it's name and then for my remix name. Being outside at dusk or night is really only fun when it's during the warmer months and I then thought back to my last few years of high school and even first couple of college and the stage was mostly set. For the rest I relied on the original and tried to recapture that soulful energy of a public gathering where everyone was there just to 'Get down'. Unwinding from the Monday throu Friday routine by letting the atmospere (and music) take them away!
