RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
a storm in my life
Lyrics
hot is the summer haze, humid and hanging heavy moist as it clings to clothes, giant hands clap out thunder shock in the atmosphere, ominous and electric pregnant with what's to come, heaven is rent wide open the skies explode billowing sound and lightning forks streak to the ground windswept and tempest tossed, heart of the storm is breaking mesmerically afraid, frightened in fascination trumpeting loud revenge, deities pounding wardrums scurrying creatures hide, cowering for protection the laden clouds bubble and burst soaking the soil, quenching its thirst pipes all in overflow, flushing and gushing water fowl flying through the sky, making a dash for safety wind sweeps through the trees, bending the boughs, shaking the leaves peach, apple and pear yield perfume and fragrance the air roofs spit off the rains, predatory flows flood through the lanes wind lashes and flails watery sheets, watery veils one million static volts split-second light escaping moment'ry everything bathed in intensive whiteness nothing but pouring rain hiding the world behind it promising now no end, as if to last forever mark the sky - the lightning, rain, and thunder mark the sky - the lightning, rain, and thunder
