I waited in the evening
For my true love to join me
Her wings were beating gently
As she sat right down beside me
"This meadow is too crowded,"
She pouted, so invitin',
"Let's go down by the creek
Where there's just not so much lightin'"

So to the creek we went
Where the rocks were smooth as butter
The evening sun was setting
And she gave her wings a flutter

Well, no one warned us two
That the creek was close to humans
I'd rather be near goblins
They don't smell quite so phew-in'
No sooner had we started
Our wings entwined and kissin'
When over to the left, we heard,
"Look what's in the litchen!"

We tried to disappear
But our wings were caught together
Huge footsteps sounded near
And we called upon the weather
A rumbling cloudburst answered
And rain came as we fumbled
But damn that rock was slick,

The current washed us down
To a bridge we had avoided
A troll came out to gloat
And we blushed in high annoyance
The current swept us past
And then released us, bitchin'
Two wet unhappy fairies
Gone courtin' in the litchen.
