With this recording I was going for a kind of Southern Rock ballad style, I am a big fan of the Drive by Truckers and there is maybe a little bit of there influence there. Words and Music- Colin McSloy Acoustic, Bass, Banjo, Vocals- Colin McS

Not really a band as such, just me and however I can hassle into playing bass etc on my songs. I've been writing/home recording songs for about 11 years off and on (really more off than on) hadn't touched a guitar 4 track for ages when I bought a zoom PS-04 for 50 on ebay. Started recording songs again (some recordings of my old songs some new)and have been reteaching myself guitar. Just bought a bass and a sm58 on ebay so hopefully I'll be doing some more recording in the near future.

Story behind the song
This is a song I have had in my head for a very long time. It is based on a dream I had when I was 17 or 18 in which Johnny Cash visited me and told me to be in a certain pub at a certain time on a certain date. I never went and till this day I wish I had. I'm pretty sure nothing would have happened but on the other hand...
Lyrics
Had a cowboy dream just yesterday Had a cowboy dream just yesterday Had a cowboy dream just yesterday Johnny Cash won't go away, oh Lord, had a cowboy dream just yesterday He rode into this room of mine He was dressed in black, stood bout 7 foot 9 He rode into this room of mine, let out a mighty whine oh Lord, Johnny Cash came to me yesterday ...and I said Johnny why'd you kill a man, when you didn't even no his name? Why you such an anagram? Don't you like to lead a life of fame? Your' so defamed. Had a cowboy dream just yesterday Johnny Cash came to me yesterday Had a cowboy dream just yesterday, wouldn't have it any other way oh Lord Johnny Cash came to me yester, Johnny Cash came to me yester.., Johnny Cash came to me yesterday.... oh yeah.
