This is a somewhat sentimental expression of personal feelings for home. There really is no place like home, and, sometimes, if I'm having a really bad day, I think to myself that if only I could get home.

Story behind the song
The inspiration came from a made-for tv movie titled: HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS (I think).
Lyrics
HOME
© 2007 John P. Webb
It’s a long dusty driveway
To get down to my house
And when I leave the paved road
There’s just ain’t any doubt
I’m home…..yea I’m home
My old dog meets me in the yard
The cat jumps on my truck
And I can smell fried chicken cookin’
Man…I love that so much
I’m home….yea I’m home
ch)
They say home is where the heart is
That’s where I want to be
With everything I hold dear
My wife and family
It’s the closest thing to heaven
Just like a beautiful song…..
Oh I’m as blessed as I can be
To have a place called home
My job is pretty stressful
Ten long hours a day
But I put it all behind me
When I drive up and say
I’m home….yea I’m home
There ain’t no place I ever go
That puts my soul at ease
Like that quiet little house there
Way back in the trees
It’s my home….it’s my home
(bridge)
My kids are playin’ in the yard
Two boys and a girl
And I don’t mind telling you
They are my world
