Born Poets is a poetry forum with emphasis on respectful but thorough critique. Until now, we were limited to the written word but it was decided that it would be both helpful and entertaining if we could also hear each other's poems as well as reading them, so we have set up this page for our members who wish to have their poems heard as well as read. It's not impossible that some of the poems will be accompanied by music too, as many of aour mmembers are also musicians. If you like what you hear on this site and want to find out more, please feel free to visit our forum at http://bornpoets.proboards23.com/ If you're a poet yourself and would like to share your works with us and maybe have your poem featured on this page, please feel free to joins us, we always welcome new members. But please bear in mind, this is a critique based forum and whilst our critiques are always friendly, respectful and thoughtful, it's not the place for you if you don't want critique on your poems. But we're a friendly, if slightly mad, bunch and there's always room for one more!

Story behind the song
From the Immortal Series, this poem deals with the anger of the Mountain, Arcanis, when he discovers that the mortals have ignored his edict not to explore on Immortal property. I was so very lucky to get the permission to use one of my all-time favourite pieces of modern classical Journey of the Magi, a piece composed by my good friend and supporter, Mike Round...thanks Mike. I truly appreciate your trust.
Lyrics
The Wrath of Arcanis by Dawn Sinclair (Rainbow Threads) What beings are these who dare to tread upon Immortal steppes and with such arrogance of tone, demand for secrets kept by one, who shall give no response save that I gave before: ”You shall not, if you live a thousand lifetimes, break the laws laid down by gods more mightiful than any of mortal creation Are you Earth's kings and lords come hither, or of lowly station?” It matters naught. You trespass on the paths to Valrou'hain gold and foolishly mistake the truth in tales you have been told. Immortals are careless of that which for a mortal carries such weight nor do their sweet souls fill with rage; tis I you make irate. Well damned Arcanis be if he should let this mewling pair escape the reaches of his wrath. I warned you to beware! Come hurricane and sweep their lands, come deluge drown their homes, come fire and brimstone from my bowels, unloose your fiery foam. Smite every last ignoble rat and show them mercy naught. No sword of stars shall save them now, this battle shall be fought with elements at my command; come hail and snow and fire! My gods empowered their servant's hand; now purging will transpire. Rise from the darkness, monstrous Murk, and bare your sabrous teeth, swell proudly, slug and maggot, to slick their lea and heath come boldly, sucking leeches, drink your fill of human blood where water rises in the worst of Cendua water's flood. Let mortals fear to tread the soil 'tween here and Iceni's yawn Defy Arcanis, humans, and regret the day you were born.
