Story behind the song
I wrote this a LONG time ago. I heard of this story about a Jewish guy who actually posed as a German in order to try to save himself and his family. I thought that was the most amazing thing ever. Not in a good or bad way, just amazing. Imagine what that had to be like? What would you have done. That's why I wrote this. Otherwise, I generally try to stay away from this stuff because most everything has already been said.
