Story behind the song
-“When a Princess cries is not the typical ballad. I´ve tried to create a darker atmosphere to transmit the character´s mood. It begins with an Harp crescendo and later, a piano that slowly descends to an obstinato. Next to it, appears the guitar with a sensitive melody that opens the road to the vocal part. The lyrics and melodies are extremely well performed by Guillermo.
Through all the song, there´s a constant presence of a smooth but obscure section of strings. The highest points are remarked with tains of bells and percussion.
A middle solo continues with the original idea of sorrow, and divides the song by the half.
The next verse is modified in his ending by a dramatical change.
The ballad ends with a final chorus that slowly falls into a dissonant motif, with the strings creating a cinematographic landscape.
This song tells the thoughts of the principal character (Willhem Lesther), that unexpectedly falls into oblivion, while his home land is being destroyed by the intruders. Lesther finds the strenght, remembering the image of his beloved Princess Myleena, prisoner in her own kingdom.
