I song I wrote for my friend.
Howdy,
Charlie's Myrtle is just the name of the "band" I call myself and the tag for my music. Charlie's Myrtle right now is just me, myself and I. I usually play with my bud and we work on stuff, but we've never finished any songs. I'm pretty much an acoustic guitarist / songwriter, most of my stuff is pretty mellow.
Story behind the song
I leave/left in October 2003, so I decided to write a song for my bestfriend so she can remember me by it.
Lyrics
Crimson Sky Lullaby
Gentle lady, don’t cry tonight
No need to worry, it’ll be all right
You say you’re down, when there’s no sunshine
Take a walk with me, it’ll ease your mind
We both know, I’m going away
No matter how much, I’d love to stay
But when a child moves on, to become a man
The choice is tough, please try to understand
Time grows dim, as the sands run low
Farewell my friend, from long ago
May you never forget, the boy you knew
And I’ll always remember, the girl in you
A time will come, when you’re all alone
So keep close in your heart, the warmth of home
Crimson sky, be fair tonight,
And let her know, everything’s going to be all right
Two childhood friends, just growing up
In a world of change, it can be kind of tough
We will always have, our tender memories
Whisking around, like whispers in the breeze
Soon will come a day, when I’ll be gone
I hope to leave with you, the echoes of my song,
We may again meet, within the dreams you make
Such sweet little things, no one can take
Gentle lady, don’t cry tonight
No need to worry, it’ll be all right
When you finally, find your sunshine
Smile for me, it’ll ease your mind
