I originally started recording myself play to track my progress and work on playing songs I had learned all the way through, like in live performances. The songs here are a few of the ones I like to play - some I have written, some by other people.

Story behind the song
I originally got this idea when I found out that my girlfriend would have internet access where she would be working in India. We were planning to use the internet to communicate, so I thought maybe I would put up pictures or video clips so she could view them without having them clog up her email inbox, taking forever to load. Then I thought, why don't I write a song for her, video tape it, and then put the video up? (see it @ http://www.myspace.com/joshua_blum) This is the audio. In regards to the lyrics, I was trying to capture the feelings of longing you have missing someone you care about, no matter where they might be. In the third verse, I was talking about the world at large, which is never so large as we might think.
