Scottish Folk Punk for you!
Well, I am a folk-punk singer songwriter from the West Coast of Scotland. I used to play in punk-rock bands, but now am just kinda going it alone. I write all my own material, which I beleive are pretty good!

Story behind the song
Theres a scene in the Clash film Rudeboy in which Joe Strummer remarks that after the Russian Revolution it was just as bad, the difference being that it was different people inside the black cars kidnapping folk. You just have to make sure that you are on the right side of the doors. I played it with my band DNR for quite a few years, but this is my new version of it.
Lyrics
Well I don't like coming last in races, I'm not keen on coming first For every man thats ever won, theres a million with their bubble burst. Everybody wants a peice of the gold at the end of the trail But no body wants to come out running because theres a chance that they'll fail. I don't wanna be the lighter, of the spark to set the world alight. I just gotta make sure we're alright. I hear alot of people talking about starting the revolution. There doesn't seem to be a place for an average guy like me. You gotta walk it talk it eat it sleep it, take the new ideals. It would be nice but how do we all know that its a good idea? I don't wanna be the lighter of a spark to set the world alight. I just gotta make sure we're alright. Well the politicians writing columns preaching for us to be afraid, The liquidators been emplyed to tell us families ain't being paid. Everyone wants a place on the heirarchy it seems, all men are created equal is the last forgotten dream. I don't wanna be the lighter, of a spark to set the world alight, I just gotta make sure we're alright.
