When I was 12 I found an old abandoned boat in the creek, then discovered fishing and got hooked for life.

I got a Roy Rogers guitar with song book for Christmas in 1958. I learned a little and put it aside. In '63 a kid brought his electric guitar to school and played "Pipeline" at our sock hop. It looked easy, so I started a garage band. Eventually, I needed money for gas and dates, so I got a real job. We disbanded in '66, but best friend, Freddie, and I kept jamming over the years. We recently worked on a song he wrote and it inspired me to write my own music. Please listen and post a message.

Lyrics
1. During the Summer of ‘61 I discovered a whole world of fun Had me a cane pole and flat bottomed boat I fished everywhere my bobber could float (Chorus) I’d hunt that whole creek till I found a bed Patrolled by those big old Copperhead They were big, thick and put up a whale of a fight Hit the bait quick and pulled the line tight That summer I got hooked on the thrill Catching big old Copperhead Bluegill 2. Sometimes my friends came along for a ride But mostly I fished with my dog at my side We fished at dawn and sometimes at night I cruised that creek by the pale moonlight (Chorus) 3. My transistor played music and sports Top 40 and Roger Maris reports None of it mattered when the bobber went down A tug on my line didn’t need any sound (Chorus) 4. Every time I hear “Little Runaway” My thoughts go back to those summer days My old green boat tied up to a log Catching Copperheads , just me and my dog (Chorus) © Words & Music A.P. Peck
