Bright Spark are two guys and a girl centred on Norwich, England, playing and singing their own brand of retro Brit Pop, softcore rock, and a wide range of othe
We are primarily a working live band and one of the busiest in the area. We enjoy every sort of gig, from private functions in swish hotels to social clubs and from sweaty rock venues to ballroom dances. Our original material reflects this and we write songs and instrumentals that are also very varied in style. All three of us play and sing and we are noted for our harmony work and our instrumental ability. We are an unusual combination - the excitement of being a new and inventive band, with the sure touch that comes only from many years of experience.

Story behind the song
Based on the album's title track, but with a darker and more passionate edge, this simple-sounding but deceptively clever Reprise includes a line from every song on this album - and one or two from the next... Naturally this track will mean more to people who have heard the other songs on the album, which will all appear on SoundClick in due course. This was the track that was the most difficult and time-consuming to plan and put together (about three months). The first section has John's original preview vocal and guitar, which although it could be improved upon technically, the band felt unable to recapture the looming, hypnotic feel. (The initial humming-hissing-clunking is intentional but not many people 'get' what it's meant to suggest...) The short second section leading into the drum entry has twelve vocal tracks. The third section builds up the backing vocals and gently lifts the tempo. The lyrics from here on come mostly from the other songs, adapted to fit together and to reflect the theme of the album. There is even a line from the instrumental "The Imposter".
Lyrics
Gambling. Seduction. Bribery. Corruption. Welcome to the new Millennium Dome! Here Comes the Rain, Mama! Global warming, bandwagon storming, Every politician's turning green. Here Comes the Rain, Mama! It's OK if you're young, gay, bright and bold, but please, Lord, don't let me grow old! Here Comes the Rain, Mama! There used to be a time of harmony and rhyme when nothing ever spoiled the view. There was just me and you, falling in love. But I find I've been had, it really makes me feel sad to know that there is more bad news messing up the life that I choose, seeing clouds above. Rain! Here Comes the Rain! *Slide guitar* I wish our sweet loving would last till I die Think twice! There's another flying pig in the sky A hug and a squeeze, a thank-you and please You'll find out in life there ain't nothing for free I'll be all right now, no need for any fuss Your loving smile I miss so much Heaven help those who are unaware I dreamed – (I dreamed) I dreamed (I dreamed) – escaping (escaping) My poor heart isn't yours to take She's captured his heart – she's state of the art Maybe something's gonna give me Bright Spark *The Imposter* Most girls wouldn't dance in the pouring rain! I dreamed – I dreamed – escaping Here Comes the Rain, Mama! The world sings - for you.
