This is a twenty minute epic, split into two parts (because I don't have a VIP account yet).

Epic Progressive Metal
This band is my solo project; still trying to find a gigging metal band. Everything, from death grunts to power vocals to guitar and drums is performed and overdubbed by me (drums are from my piano). Please comment me, either here or my member's page!

Story behind the song
This was a labor of love--it took over a year to write. As the title indicates, it's about Egyptian myth, the rise and fall of Osiris, the jealousy of his brother, Set, and Osiris' family. To avoid confusion (for both parts), Set's wife, Nephthys, a death goddess, had an affair with Osiris, and their child was Anubis, Osiris' "bastard son". In this first part, the gods are born, and at length Osiris is betrayed.
Lyrics
I. Overture II. Procession Ancient lands, home to sand and silt Graced by light from above Tales of gods from the bygone Nile Hearken now their majestic lay. Sun ablaze, fiery ochre gem Wisdom coalesces in avian lord Grandest host, power gloats among them Myriad forms from above. Progeny. sapphire bird and men Gat our lords Osiris and Set Brother's feud, forged by primal drives When carnal scarab bosom engulfs the elder. Borne of lust, scintillating limbs Steely Anubis rises, Jackal's stately gaze Set glowers as brother's fortune mounts Sprites and spirits flock to his nascent foe III. March of the Gods Regent high Great might and power Pristine white Gilds his rich green form Beside him In silken, smooth grace Her beauty pales All of mortal race. Doughty fealty Twin alike in form Horus draws every breath For his father and lord. Bestial cavalcade Ox and crocodile March throughout the land Witless of impending guile. IV. Set's Oath "For too long have I sat Fortune robbed of me Isis paws adoringly And the bitch who bears my name. Yet I grow pallid, brother Emaciated, cracked As you grow exalted My chivalry is sapped A din of derision Jackal's baying scorn Small wander a dog's head Adorns your bastard son They perceive a genteel grin And I a gloating scowl So with what little power remains I'll see your soul mauled." V. The Party VI. Betrayal A snap of the surreal Nature law upset As the party guests turn To the cronies of Set As gift to his brother He wrought a basket fair Whoever fit inside it Claimed it for his heirs The contorted equines Shove the casket aloft Pushing through a melee As their lord they now besought Frenzied search, no yield For the panicking Queen Osiris now floats in the Nile Mauled to a bloody sheen Widespread lament He filled every soul's void Insane peals Fill the caverns abroad. Blinking back the tears Besmirching her loveliness Isis grabs the torn corpse From Set's stronghold.
