Instrumental Guitar based music
Hi, I am and welcome to my Soundclick page. I'm a 27 year old Guitar Player based in Edinburgh, Scotland. From a young age I was exposed to a wide range of music thanks to my parents listening to the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cream, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Holst, Motown, 50s Rock and roll, Blues etc. etc. the list goes on on. My first experience learning to play a musical instrument was of the Clarinet which I had the opportunity to study in primary school. I played the Clarinet for about a year or so culminating in a performance in front of the school at a Christmas service. At the time it didn't really do anything for me, in those days I was listening to the likes of Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses which I admit is not exactly Clarinet based music. So I decided to give it up with the aim of learning the guitar one day. A few years passed and around the summer of 1989 I started to receive lessons from a local guitar teacher by the name of Jake Hodge. Jake, a top bloke, taught me the basics and showed me how to play old Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel songs etc. I remember those days fondly and the thrill of actually creating music on the guitar. After about six months I headed out on my own grabbing as many books as I could. The rest as they say is history. --

Story behind the song
March 2007 Guitarist Recording Collective task was to : “ take the song “Sleepwalk,” and do what you will with it. I mean it. Mangle the thing, take the ditty for a spin in a completely different genre, a new style, or a re-engineering old style. Above all, have fun with this well-worn tune.” I’d been dying to get my archtop on a recording so this was the perfect chance :) . Went for a slightly jazzy-funky vibe on this one.
