Story behind the song
There's one road we all travel, and it leads to a cold, cold grave. For some, there is another Road, and it leads to a Better Place.
Lyrics
ONE ROAD It’s a rocky road we travel, Pitfalls along the way. Some folks stumble on the gravel; Some folks make it O.K. But there’s one road we all travel, Yes, there’s one road we all travel, Oh, there’s one road we all travel, And it leads to a cold, cold grave. There are muddy roads all around, And washed-out bridges too. Some folks make it to higher ground And cling to what is true. But there’s one road we all travel, Yes, there’s one road we all travel, Oh, there’s one road we all travel, And it leads to a cold, cold grave. The superhighways are gridlocked, Traffic’s down to a crawl. Our Creator will not be mocked; He stays above it all. But there’s one road we all travel, Yes, there’s one road we all travel, Oh, there’s one road we all travel, And it leads to a cold, cold grave. Rocks and gravel, it’s a bloody track. Don’t look down, and don’t look back. Look up, look up, look and behold That highway in the sky. The other end is paved with gold; I’ll go there when I die. Yeah, I’ll see it when I die. Damascus Road or Calvary, Both lead to the same place. God paid the toll for you and me With His Amazing Grace. We’ll thank Him Face to face There’s one road that I’ll travel, Yes, there’s one road I will travel, Oh, there’s one road that I’ll travel, And it leads to a better place, Where I’ll see my Savior’s Face, When I pass through Heaven’s Gate - And it’s all because Jesus saves. It’s all because Jesus saves. Copyright © 2006 Lex Zaleta
