Hog Time Music is the creative outlet of Ralph Goff. I write most of the songs and record them in my home based studio, Hog Time Studio. I'm backed up on many songs by my long time musical partner and friend, John Jett, playing banjo and resonator guitar. John is also the artist of the Hog Time Music drawing. I primarily play acoustic guitar (1969 Martin D18, Taylor 812C and 1963 Gibson Southern Jumbo), and add some fills with mandolin on some songs. In addition, most vocal work is by me. Computer generated drum and bass is also used on some songs.

Story behind the song
The chorus formed in my mind first and then I came up with 3 verses to support the chorus. Used some free fiddle loops from efiddler.com.
Lyrics
© 2007 Ralph Goff GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER (BEFORE THAT JUDGMENT DAY) It was hard for Momma when I was young I caused her problems every day Staying out late and getting into trouble No matter what she’d say Then one day she got tired of it all Showed me to the front door As I was climbing into my pickup This is what I heard her roar [ Chorus] You better get your act together before that judgment day Get you act together or there'll be hell to pay You don’t know when it's a comin' So you better not delay Get your act together before that judgment day But I kept on with my wild life It was known all around town People would pass me on the street Not smiling, just a frown Even my friends would try to avoid me Look down or turn their heads Then I saw one who’d become a preacher And he sat me down and said [ repeat chorus] Was having too much fun to stop Then I ended up in jail The judge he gave me 30 days Without the hope of bail Did my time and they let me out I was itchin’ for a drink that day But Momma, the preacher & the judge were there And they had this to say [repeat chorus twice]
