Spike Dappa' started out listening to ERIC B, SLICK RICK, and EPMD. Basically all of the great music icons that Spike could get his hands on and listen too. Spike in turn adopted the laid back old school style of parting and added his parents rock/funk influences along with a surf pop/blues tip to his music. As time went on Spike became known for they type of music he would do. Doing what he loved so well, Spike was up for BEST NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the CHICAGO MUSIC AWARDS. Spike’s songs have been placed in the following movies, POOLHALL JUNKIES starring Christopher Walken and Rick Schroeder ,DROP DEAD ROSES an Indie film of the year, SPLAT a movie about paintball, 2 episodes of DAWSONS CREEK which were 606 & 604, and season 6, NATIONAL LAMPOONS "ADAM AND EVE." Spike did so well, he was added to the display at the museum of science & industry that contained exhibits pertaining to the Hip Hop exhibits "CHICAGO WALL OF FAME!" one of Spike’s greatest abilities is putting together songs with humor, will make any one laugh, and all of his songs tells a story. Songs with a story line is very rear in today’s music. One of the best instruments that Spike has played in his music is the Harmonic. Who would have ever thought to incorporate the Harmonic in their music? None other then Spike Dappa'. A Chicago native, Spike Dappa' has over come the many stereotypes that has faced Spike. Spike knew that he had to step up his game in a town known for Blues and House music. Spike became the new and exciting unsigned artist, but all so becoming a crowd pleaser. This new sound coming from an unsigned artist that is unknown is quickly becoming the known.
