Story behind the song
I heard a song that was very majestic. I felt that such majesty should be used in honor of Jesus, who took our sins on himself on the cross and then defeated death on our behalf. So I wrote this song.
Lyrics
A Sound of Exultation Therefs a sound of exultation! There's a sound of rejoicing and cheer Coming from the tents of the righteous, ringing out both far and near! We were dead in sin and trespass! Now to life we have been restored! Death in swallowed in victory and we praise you, living Lord! We were despairing! God with great caring, His son was sharing! Great is your love! You were righteous, you were holy. You were just, Lord, you were good. But you bore the awful burden that no one else ever could! All our sins were placed upon you and you took them to the tree. By your suffrfing and your dying you have set us all free! To you, O Lord our voices we raise, Bring glory, honor, worship and praise! To the One on the throne and to you blessed son For the love that you've shown for the vic'try youfve won. From the cross then you descended into deathfs cold, dark domain, But the powers of destruction tried to keep you there in vain. There was no way they could claim you. You defeted them instead. Now they cannot hold us either. We will rise from the dead! And wefll sing, sing alleluia, Praise to the Lord, Sing alleluia, Praise to the Lord! Alleluia! Sing we now with joyful hearts. We praise you O Lord! We will sing your song to our very last breath. We will lift you up. Lord, you have freed us from death! And as long as we live we will spend all our days. In a life of obediencs and worship and praise. O Death where is your victfry O Death where is you sting He lives. Death is defeated Of his triumph wefll sing. (C)2007 JJANA
