this song is so personal and was so hard emotionally to write and record...
on 2-11-07 we had to put down our black lab, pepper, after 4 years of battling mass cell cancer and being 13 years old...he surprisingly had been fairly active and still getting around almost as normal as a old dog with arthritus and cancer would, until 2-10 and he hit a downturn and he may have possible had a stroke or seizure and lost control of his back end and could hardly hold himself up and walk....so then we had to come to terms with what we knew we had to do and help end all the suffering and pain he had...such a hard decision to make, as i really wanted to let him pass naturally...he held on because he loved being with our family so much...but he now is not in any pain, and is running in the clouds...he was such an awesome companion...i'll miss him so much...I love you Pepper...peace be with you...
wrote most of the lyrics on 2-12, had a verse and chorus...then on 2-22 i rewrote and added a verse and different choruses and called it done and then finally got the strength in me to record it on 2-28 in Sound Forge just acoustic and vocals...
