Written years ago for my boyfriend who was hit and killed by a train when he was 17.

and lay beside me on, my lonely bed
when I awoke, alone the next grey morning
the other pillow held the mark, of your head.
I waited through the day for your returning
needing yet another "last" goodbye
But I was still alone when evening settled
so I put myself to bed, to lay and cry.
Then suddenly a kiss fell on my forehead
and your memory laid down softly, by my side
I reached out and felt that I could touch you
and I knew our sweet love had survived.
