Lyrics
Green Tea and Spiffs (Warp Records broke my brain) Endless cups of green tea and spliffs somehow got me through the last 11 hours. Tears stream, rain on windows, Sigur Ros on the stereo. "I'm a broken man" - a pathetic cliché. I guess you talk some sense some times but you always break away so soon, and I just wanna lie here and think for a while because you're confused and I'm confused and we're all so fucking confused. If there’s one thing that I've learnt from this debacle its never give your love to anyone. If there’s one thing that I've learnt from this whole fucking mess, its never give your love to anyone at all. First off, this is a love song about consciousness and the ego, its about mental illness and a girl, sometimes I think they're the same. So its sometime last winter, I find myself lying on the floor of my flat, naked, crying like its the end of the world or something. Its pissing it down outside and I haven't seen anyone in a few days except the dude that works at the Kwikki Mart that sold me some red wine and baccy. I lie there for a few hours thinking, churning things over, industrial capitalism, violence, self-interest, theres a bunch of stuff to think about if you try but most people don't bother. Anyway, eventually I just come to wonder how on earth I came to be in this state. Self-pity, paranoia, lonliness, doubt, alienation. It happens, you get over it...or at least learn to deal with it. Sometimes its kinda cool to think, its good for the soul.
