Hello. I'm Shane Pack, a folkie from Tennessee. I am a follower of John Prine and Todd Snider, and I dabble in songwriting myself a bit. Hope you enjoy.

Story behind the song
I used to frequent a John Prine chat room and my handle was "Space Monkey". I dug the Prine song Space Monkey, so I wrote one of my own.
Lyrics
All these monkeys on my back almost gave me a heart attack I ain't ever going back to the farm Someone said they saw my face somewhere in another place It could have been in outer space where I was born [chorus] I'm swinging through the jungle on my vine I'm swimming in my head from all the wine I'm moving away to a warmer climate Cause I'm the outer space primate and when I'm flying high I feel just fine [end chorus] When I'm way up in the sky I dot my t's and I cross my eyes I speak the truth and I tell you lies all the time Sometimes I get awful bored so I hang around the grocery store And I listen to the old men snore in time [chorus] And when my feet leave the ground I fly away without a sound All my friends just hang around and cry They shade their eyes and they watch me go like a one man band without a show I think I'll go to Mexico and die [chorus]
