Story behind the song

so i had a single pattern (you'll hear it when the guitar comes in) and it took seemingly forever to build anything around it. but i did. and i love this. the name? comes from the Genesis game X-men; theres a level called Mojo's Future Crunch. and a part that resembles this. as well, i originally thought the sound came from the Phalanx levels of X-men 2: Clone Wars. that explains the title.

for more depth, theres a setting in FLStudio called Rock Taps that i tinkered with and made into Phaser instead of multitap. and the result was evil and brooding; not what i had in mind for the current song, but something i didnt discard all the same.

i later stumbled into other, more sophisticated sounds like the pads and strings, which are what really make this my favorite; how it uses the same basic progression and gets away with it.

thats another thing; ive noted this song as being my most self absorbed piece because of how i allow it to grow at its own slow 60BpS pace into the tragic beast it is.

sorry if that was plugging it a bit too much, but it is my favorite piece for a reason. im most proud of this one above all others and pretty much entered my rut right after this was completed. its bittersweet.
