Virtual Guest Artist-Earl Scruggs, banjo
Original inspirational music, ranging from hard rock to bluegrass.
Story behind the song
I wanted to write a song with a bluegrass feel to it, so I used Earl Scruggs as my virtual guest artist.
Lyrics
Well I'm building a house upon the rock of the Lord
And I am getting my blueprint from His Holy Word.
And it's a house that will stand until the end of time
Because it's built on faith and a love so divine,
And all the walls are sturdy and the roof is strong,
And I am safe and secure because I know I belong
To my precious Shepherd's eternal flock.
Yes I'm building my house on the rock.
I don't need to worry 'bout the wind and rain.
And I don't need to worry 'bout the tears and pain
Because I have a castle that is safe and warm.
And the strength of my Father sees me
through the storm.
And though the wind may blow and howl
around my door,
Well, I don't need to worry 'bout it any more
Because the door only opens when my Savior knocks.
And I'm building my house on the rock.
Every morning when I throw the windows wide
And feel the love of God as it fills the inside
With the blessed aroma of His sweet perfume,
I feel the love of Jesus filling every room.
On all the walls are pictures of my Savior's face
And all my bills are paid with His amazing grace.
Yes, He is with me every day around the clock
Cause I'm building my house on the rock.

When you build your house upon the Father's plan,
You don't have to worry, it will always stand.
And when the Holy Spirit is your guiding light,
There is no need to tremble through the darkest night.
So I can understand why people live in fear
If they have never found the One who draws us near
To feel His strength, protection, and to know that He
Has the power to lead us through eternity.
But in my house of worship, there is only joy
'Cause it's a house that evil can never destroy.
And I know it's the finest house on the block
'Cause I'm building my house on the rock.
My heart is open when my Savior knocks
'Cause I'm building my house on the rock.
