Previous to this release New York born bi-racial singer collaborated with Dutch producer Rene van Verseveld and group Def La Desh resulting in several pop and club hits, notably her single Feel The Rhythm which was in rotation on VH1, BET and MTV. She enjoyed other solo hit singles Unforgiven", and (also titled) Feel The Rhythm, produced by DJ Juanito and remixed by Fernando Garibay. (Lady Gaga) AS I AM contains 10 mid-tempo love songs, with elements of pop and jazz. Throughout the album Wendy, shows her ability to sing great soundtrack style ballads such as I Believe" and "Lead Me Home." The melodies are beautiful and almost transcendent. The album moves into a jazzy feel with Meant To Be Together" and Maybe This Time" written by Wendy. She often writes of the hopes for real love and lasting love. The instrumentation on these 2 tunes is fantastic, reminiscent of early Anita Baker music. It is a MUST-HAVE if you are looking for great singing, beautiful melodies and fantastic music
