Story behind the song
I try not to bring politics into my music, but every once in a while I just kind of ends up there. It's not bashing any particular person or party, it's just a song about my anxiety's for earth's future.
Lyrics
I was out in the forest in the middle of the night I had to squint to see through the gloom That's where I saw old man time He was singing such a mournful tune I looked that old man, I looked him straight in the eye I said "Why are you feeling so blue" He said "I lost my heart and all my cares for the world And I guess I just don't know what to do" Then I said "Get your heart back Get your heart back Get your heart back, we need it more than ever!" Late last night I had terrible dream Where everything was just how it seemed There was a man with a pen, signed on the dotted line And Killed everything important to me I looked that old man, I looked him straight in the eye I said "Tell me, what does this all mean" Said "You lost your heart and all your cares for the world And Everything in between. Then he said "Get your heart back Get your heart Back Get your heart back, we need it more than ever!" No one knows what it means but me.
