Story behind the song
I was listening to the Dj Premier tracks off of the new Christina Aguilera album and I decided to make a sampled beat that fit that vibe. I was holding this Ann Peebles sample for a while. I work for Puddin's Playhouse and the sample seemed to fit for the Hate Mail bits we do ("tear the playhouse down"... get it?). So I made the track with only the sample and the drums, but me being me, I had to add some flavor to the track. I added the horns and the bells. I then gave it to Puddin', but I told him DJ Premier made it thinking he might play it on the radio just based on that account. So if you hear this on the radio and you think its DJ Premier, know that its NOT and Dante Cope made this beat. Holla
