Bigga - So Ghostly Biggaman / Phil Blunt, whatever you want to call him. could say he’s been doing it time but you’d just never believe him, as he’s still yet to become a hip-hop household name. Still.it all started with Gnostix back in ‘98, where Bigga’s presence was heavily felt on the ‘Dark ages’ mix tape, blessing a number of Semantix Tha Sorcera productions alongside peeps like ReggiiMental and the Agent, before making steady progression onto the 12” Market with features on the 1xtra listed ‘If you admire’. Further on he was to feature alongside artists such as Stylah and The Last Skeptic on the Deprogrammed ‘Friends of the family’ compilation. Notable for his ‘off the cuff’ punch lines and battle tact, Bigga has moved the game toward that ‘competitive mc style’ with accolades for collaborations with jump-off legend Sonnyjim, showcasing the artistic aura of the midlands best kept secrets still to be taken from the box labelled ‘handle with care ‘. On the live front, the Biggaman can be openly seen blessing stages across the mids and back, in conjunction with the boy wonder Joe Gutta aka Joey G Zus with the ‘Unfriendly neighbours ‘outfit exclusively produced by Rusty Jukebox Records producer of the moment Second Suzpect. With accolades for support with heavyweights such as Jehst, Skinnyman, Blade, Cappo, Yogi, Alex Blood and Sonnyjim, Bigga can no doubt hold his own, therefore making way for his eagerly anticipated release ‘So Ghostly’. Featuring production from super producer Baby J alongside a number of guest Mc’s, ‘So Ghostly’ has been hotly tipped to move Bigga into that next level of Uk hip-hop with shows lined up at some of the most live venues across London, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham and no doubt in a city near you !! With an entourage boasting the talents of ‘The Unfriendly Neighbours’, the Second Suzpect, DJ Switch and a host of guest appearances, the live shows, like the ones in the past are sure to be heard for miles around! Future projects in the pipeline include collaborations with Birmingham giants Moorish Delta 7 as featured on the cartoon hip-hop series, and collaborations with the Steel City’s finest Hoods Underground. With features on the ‘Second Suzpect Presents’ promo, Bigga has been on digital distribution through both Apples I-Tunes, Sony Connect services with 500 copies being distributed on street as of early 2006. With a limited edition press of ‘So Ghostly’, Bigga is making positive steps in taking hip-hop back to the original art form with tight productions by Semantix Tha Sorcera, Raze Brooks, Third Degree and Second Suspect, with features including Gnostix, Joe Gutta, Sonnyjim and Lok Jaw, the standard is high throughout the album. Not only show casing his talent for witty punch lines and effortless flows he also shows his knack for story telling on tracks such as ‘As the crow flys’ and ‘Sweet turned sour’. The album has been mixed and mastered by Second Suzpect and includes cuts by The Main Ingredients DJ Cro. With radio appearances booked for HHB.com and New style FM and upcoming shows, you will be sure to see or hear Bigga in the near future.
