This sounds kind of like a suicide song, but this is actually the end of the project because after he has closure, the only thing he wants to kill off is the old him. I guess is it kind of a suicide. But he's only destroying the part of him that he had to change for her. It sounds like fear of death, but it's really saying, "Don't be afraid of me because I know and I still have to see you together." It's a complete closure. The whole project is called The Martyr because the main character dies for something he believes in, and has to reinvent and refind himself.
