A former lead guitarist / lead vocalist in cover groups; I left music completely for a time. Now recording my own songs for a Contemporary Christian CD project.
Story behind the song
We chase after so many distractions that are cleverly sold to us, but we'll never be satisfied with the substitues.
This was written as a theme song for a church ministry serious several years back; revised a bit since then. Jodi, the young woman that contributed her vocals in this vocal duet with me is now a resident of Heaven (Miss you and Tommy)
In this version, we had some fun with throwing in some jazzy guitar leads and an improv-style lead vocal at the end. I got some help with the vocals; this is a duet with a good friend (my little sister in Christ) Jodi. Further refinements & revisions will keep coming on this; it is not quite finished yet.

and we're searching for that good life that they sell us on TV.
But, we never reach the carrot, and we waste our precious time,
when we could have had the joy that comes as Jesus touches lives.
