stomping rhythms, manic violin sawing, gritty female vocals, and addictive bass lines
Ever had a mad fiddler in your lap? At the Locals' live shows you may just get that! Hold on tight because, orginal rock music is making a comeback in the rambunctious, rootsy tunes of this Mid-western band. The Locals have been rocking the Chicago music scene for the last 5 years. Their deceptivily understated line up of acoustic guitar, electric violin, drums and bass, launches a fury of energetic rock at every show. Violinist David Goldman is clearly the crowd pleaser with his manic fiddle sawing, so manic in fact that he has to have his bow re-haired after just about every gig! Super smooth, bass player Christy Nunes lays down a refreshing combination of skilled and melodic bass lines that will be buzzing around in your head long after the show is done. Vocalist/guitar/songwriter, Yvonne Doll's powerhouse vocal stylings will leave you wondering how so much sound comes out of such a small person, and drummer Ross Rutherford? Dont his "shop teacher" appearance fool you, this guy has more chops than a steak house on saturday night. The Locals sound is a spicy sonic cocktail! The recipe goes something like this: start with some No Doubt and Melissa Etheridge, throw some Dave Matthews in there and swirl it around with a dash of Ani Difranco, served up in a sweaty 20 oz rocket red tumbler. Yum! No doubt meets melissa etheridge, throw some dave matthews in there and swirl it around with a dash of ani difranco.

Story behind the song
This song was written about a relationship that went on way to long before its inevitable demise. It's about the things people do to each other in their pursuit of love or what they think is love. It's about letting go.
Lyrics
Lonely, are you done? Are you gone? If I pushed you over your edges , have I won? Lonely, are you well? Are you sure? You're laughing and feeling good, It's not a cure Oh when I look in the mirror, I dont like the man I've been I'm older but nothing is clearer I'll take you straight to the point You don't love me- Then Headlights and low-lives ahead Street lamps start to look like friends Baby, I'm just a simple man Have you taken all of this life that you can? Oh when I look in the mirror, I don't like the man I've been I'm older but nothing is clearer I'll take you straight to the point You don't love me? I’ll take you straight to the point You don't love me- I’m just dying to get your attention, And you're just trying to let me go I'm just dying to get your attention, And you're just dying to let me go Let me go Into the troubled mind Into the trouble mine Lonely, are you down? Are you out? If I'm the only man left standing have I won? I'm justified; been charged and tried- I'm not free. Just addicted to a twisted- security Oh when I look in the mirror, I dont like the man I've been I'm older but nothing is clearer I'll take you straight to the point You dont love me
