Story behind the song
I wrote this lyric as teenager and turned it into a song a few years later. Originally a wierd-folk tune that I played (and still play) on acoustic guitar for this band version I decided to go with a riping lead guitar figure instead of normal backing.
Lyrics
Slow starving vines have spread Over the walls of us all. Greatly we worship the dread Of the cold upcoming fall. My walls are crumbling soft At the touch of your finger roots. The floors and the furnishings have fought And lost the rights to the rotting fruit. Gently falling are the bricks, A strange yet settling rain. May I now trust in your tricks And find a shallow grave in your brain. The dust upon the grass has fallen Until it’s turned to dew If the clouds don’t turn the sun solemn I’ll rise and I’ll met with you
