Story behind the song
My Cousin Sue and her husband Bob offered my family the chance to stay at their beach cottage in Delaware early in the summer of 2002. It was a very enjoyable break from the routine. This song was an attempt to recognize the value of slowing things down once in a while (and more often!).
Lyrics
Slow Motion D9 C9 G D9 Slow motion. We could sure use some slow motion. D9 C9 G D9 Slow motion. Everyone needs some slow motion. G D9 Life in perpetual motion G Asus/A Isn’t what living’s all about D9 C9 G D9 Slow motion. I’m looking for some slow motion. Slow motion. Tides ebb and flow in slow motion. Slow motion. Rock turns to sand in slow motion. Rain becomes streams and rivers Making their way to lakes and seas, Slow motion, shaping the land in slow motion. Slow motion. Love settles into slow motion. Slow motion. Love’s best sustained in slow motion. Youthful love races and rages, But days become years in the blink of an eye. Slow motion. I love life best in slow motion. G D9 And I love you best in slow motion. G D9 Come hold me close, in slow motion. G D9 Watch the world turn in slow motion. Unpublished work Copyright © 2002 John R. Whitney
