Glenn Allen is a California original. Born and raised in Sacramento, he comes from a family steeped in musical tradition. His grandmother was a singer and pianist and his uncle is a professional drummer. Glenn carries on the practice today as an emerging singer songwriter with an original and distinctive sound. His voice is gentle yet strong and his lyrics are reflective, dealing with personal life changes and relationships. His music is textured with lush harmonies, robust guitar work, and melodies that draw the listener in. Glenn started playing drums when he was 12 years old. At age 17, he also picked up the guitar and then piano- and almost immediately began writing songs. Not long after high school, with numerous bands expanding his repertoire and deepening his performance experience, he formed a Top 40 band in the Sacramento area. Soon, he was out front playing guitar and singing backup. He quickly became the band's primary songwriter penning many original works. It wasn't long after that when Glenn moved to Los Angeles to further hone his skill as a songwriter and producer and attended the Musician's Institute where he studied audio engineering and perfecting his knowledge of music production. In the summer of 2007, Glenn began recording in his home studio with bassist Wayne Lothian (English Beat, General Public) and later drummer Chris O'Brien (The Lift, David Tyson) was brought in to lend his powerful drum style to the mix. Additional engineering was done by Zoran Todorovic who has worked on projects for Seal, The Eagles Randy Meisner and many others at Sonic Farm Recording Studio. The tracks were honed further with Grammy nominated engineer and producer Michael Vail Blum (Madonna, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson) at Titan Music in Studio City, Ca. Now residing in Seattle, Glenn is preparing for the release and support of his debut independent album. Featured songs from his forthcoming CD can be heard on the music page of this website. Lyrics
Here- I spend every night right here Disappear- Where have you gone, my dear? Oh- I don't know what to do Oh Oh- So tangled up in blue- over you Tears- We spent every night in tears Oh it was clear- That you'd say the words that I wouldn't hear Oh- I lost my sense of true love Oh oh- Don't let this be the end of us..... Baby please, come back to me I'm beggin' on my bendin' knees For you to turn my way- just one time If you would give my heart relief I could say goodbye to nights like these And all the stars above- would fall in line If only I could change your mind Well it don't matter now If I come back to you- or if you come back to me Cause I won't let you down With all that we've been through I would never leave you.... Here- I spend every night right here Reappear- Where have you gone, my dear? Oh- I don't know what to do Oh oh- So tangled up in you...... Baby please, come back to me I'm beggin' on my bendin' knees For you to turn my way- just one time If you would give my heart relief I could say goodbye to nights like these And all the stars above- would fall in line If only I could change your mind
