Well, my name is Skyler Kevin Holmes but I go by the name Sky K. I'm originally from New York and moved to Australia towards the end of 2006 to try something new and start a new beginining for myself because I believe in challenges and I thought this would be a great challenge. As for my sound, I call it gumbo. It's like a compilation of different sounds but still stays grimy, respectable, down to earth, fun, and sometimes controvercial, which I think is very important in this business. Some of my songs are more gospel, some hip hop, some r&b, and at times, even rock. I think music allows you to express yourself and there are many sides to Sky K., so I need many types of experssion. Other than that, I'm your typical, down to earth, easy going kinda guy and that's how I keep my music. I keep it real, I keep it me, and I think that's what makes it interesting. Everything is recorded at home with it's original sound without a studio polishing and I do that purposely to be free to be me and to let all the listeners know, it's ok no to be perfect or miss a key...it's life and more importantly, it's reality.
