Story behind the song
Inspired by a short story Sam wrote and a line from a Robert Frost poem (with miles to go before I sleep), written in January 2006.
Lyrics
these eyes are not mine they were given to me by time red with sleep and blue with lines only seeing as far as headlights shine one more mile over one more hill I'll keep going if you will accelerating fast while the mind is still only seeing as far as headlights shine with miles to go before I sleep is this real or is this a dream things are never what they seem in the world of confused caffine if I close my eyes will I wake up fine? I'm asleep for all I know is that why miles pass so slow I feel the night outside my window melt away as I'm passing by with miles to go before I sleep these eyes are not mine they were given to me by time they beg to stay open but I decline with miles to go
