A tribute to Elvis, the King of Rock n Roll... I borrowed the concept of 'mainline' from gospel music. It was actually Paul Vernot, the great preserver of all forms of popular music ending around 1963 (except for C&W) who was an inspiration on the

I have been writing songs for quite a while. Much less so as I get older. These follow many different genres in rock and folk. The music here is from a variety of "audio notebooks" and highlights the basic sound. I have used single track analog, multitrack analog and digital. Sometimes when I feel like it, I actually play in public. I currently own and use several instruments ranging from my Fender Mustang, Casio electronic guitar, CZ-101 keyboard, mandolins, Epiphone Les Paul Jr., and Ibanez acoustic. Percussion is usually done the way Eddie Cochran did it, with a shoe box with a mic inside. My influences include the usual suspects with emphasis on Buddy Holly, Hank Williams, Elvis, George Jones, Dion, Dylan, and, of course, Waste Management. Did I leave out the great Paul Vernot, master of the early Rock n Roll genre? If the Internet is working correctly, Tish and Snookie will hit on this page:)

Story behind the song
This, like most of my great work was written in the 1980s when I still had a brain. 1. Always Elvis was a wine whose concept was better than its reality 2. A cellphone shaped like an Eldorado would certainly give an iPhone a real challenge 3. In the late Sixties, Steppenwolf had a song about Chuck Berry that incorporated song titles into the lyrics. I figured this was a great idea. 4. The song was last performed in public in May of 2007 at Orion's birthday party. Tish and Snooky were encouraging me to play something and this was the only thing I could play that was lyrically appropriate.
