Working on a draft about a modern tale of denial wrapped up in that famous statement - 'It will never happen to me...it's really not that bad...'

Hi there! This music contains songs I composed between 1994 - 2006. They include work in my music studio, live performances at coffee shops, and from my piano recital in 2000. The very last song is the first song I ever composed in the 6th grade (1978). I'm currently studying the flute while working on some piano/flute pieces with my instructor. Future music will have a different website. I'll direct you to it when the material is ready. Thank you for listening! Sara

Story behind the song
Written for all my friends who have been killed or injured by drunk drivers over the years. I still think of you Suzy E. and Brian W.
Lyrics
The Great Denial So our good ol' friend Who doesn't need to feel Was driving drunk the other night 'cross that farmer's field He didn't see the dog Or the man walking home That good ol' friend drove through them Thinking they were snow What have you said to me, he cried You weren't there the other night I will deny that time So our good ol' friend Who doesn't want to feel Was sentenced early yesterday Near that farmer's field Those good ol' boys of Akron Came to his defense But the family weeping next to them Made more common sense What have you done to us? they cried Daddy's gone; this happened We will not deny that time I never touch the stuff, he said It's really only in your head I never touch the stuff, he said So our good ol' friend Who doesn't seem to feel Is shouting at the blacken'd sky Hoping for appeal Just give me my final meal Before I slowly die And let it be the bottle, Bill So I can feel alive Look what you've done to me, he cried You weren't there that other night I will deny that time
