We play original songs in classic styles: Blues Rock, Rock`n`Roll, Blues/Pop, Hard Rock, Country/Pop, Sixties Retro, etc..
Druha smena (The Other Shift) was founded by Milan Vymazal (vocals, keyboards), Zdenek Poklemba (guitars) and Juraj Suchon (drums) in 2001. Jaroslav Novotny (bass) joined a year later. The bands philosophy is based on an argument about who is better: Beatles and Stones (Mr Vymazal asserts so) or Clapton and B.B. King (Mr Poklemba asserts so). The drummer Jirka Suchon usually agrees with everything and the bassist Jarda Novotny with nothing, just to be sure. This is the way how the necessary creative tension is generated. Its results can be heard at various rock (revival) festivals, motorbike meetings, school balls, etc. We must also mention our American friends living in Olomouc, Czech Republic who write the lyrics for us. Thanks a lot, Mick and Michael, for the ongoing excellent collaboration.

Lyrics
(MICK THOMPSON singing) I was born on the outskirts Of a midwestern town There were nine of us living In a three room house Didn`t have nothing to live on Started writing songs Then I could move on. Had a friend down in Memphis Who taught me to play He loved his old guitar And he`d always say No money, whiskey, women or wine Could knock Wooden Lady down She helped me to shine. (interplay) Then I became famous Had money to burn Threw outrageous parties And I never learned I made every woman around Dropped them one at a time And blew my last dime. (solo-guitar) Now back in my hometown Yeah, this is my tale I`m cleaning the high school My house is for sale And the Lady is still waiting In a pawnshop to get back Get back to the top. Get back to the top Get back to the top. Lady!
