Story behind the song
This song is based on the idea that the seed of Humanity was sown on Earth millions of years ago by a race of Star Wanders and that unconsciously, we await their return and long for it.
Lyrics
FARAWAY HOME copyright 1988 by Victor Compton On the third of nine planets 'round a warm, yellow sun, the great Starships lifted and they left, one by one. On the breath of the Infinite Night, they were blown; and they never returned to their Faraway Home. When you've lived in low gravity all of your life; when you've conquered the distance and caught up with light; when you've gone far beyond all the Starfields you've known; Pledge a moment in memory for your Faraway Home. As you're approaching the Edge of the Night and all of the Galaxies have faded from sight, and Hope is just a distant, star on its own, Remember those waiting on your Faraway Home. Well, I grew from a seed that you left behind; and not only me, but all of Mankind. But we've lost our direction, now we burn alone, like a Light in the Window of your Faraway Home.
