Story behind the song
It´s a story about a young boy who lost his parents in the war. He lives in an orphanage since they died. All he remembers is that melody of his mother, she played it every night on her violin when she sent him to bed. Now there are just a few memories and the violin leftover. So the boy sneaks out of the orphanage every night to his special place in the wood. There is a large tree stump under a forest clearing. He sits there every night, playing this melody, the last memory of his parents. There´s only the moon and the animals of the forest who listen.
