Here is a little about myself: TOM TRIPP's love for country music can be traced back to his growing up on a small Kansas dirt farm. Tom was the youngest of seven children. His father was a storyteller (as his father was, and his father before him). Tom's father and mother both worked hard to keep their family fed. At the end of a long day, his father would sit next to the old coal-burning stove and tell stories about growing up in the coalfields of southeast Kansas, and of his many adventures in life. Tom learned the art of storytelling at an early age in life, and it can be heard in the stories and songs he writes today. Tom has traveled across every state in the USA but two... Alaska and Hawaii. When asked why he hasn't visited those states yet, Tom just smiles and says: "I always leave the best for last, and my life is far from over." Tom has looked down upon this old earth from the top of the Rocky Mountains. He has watched the sun rise and set over two oceans. He has traveled through the hot desert and walked upon the frozen ponds of the northland, but he has always returned to Kansas... the place where he hangs his hat. Tom Tripp is the proud parent of 4 grown children , Jason , Chris , Nicole and Gina and a Grandfather of 4.

Daydreaming about home Written by Ed Gowens 2006 I was sitting here in this old chair, daydreaming about my life from the past Dreams I would not trade for anything, dreams that really go by, way to fast I dream I'm back in my childhood, when I was only six years old Where the summers were hot as Hades and the winters were oh....so cold I can see my Momma in the kitchen, cooking supper as she hummed a gospel song My sisters set the table for all seven of us, as the light of day is almost gone Daddy just came in from his back breaking work day, on our ole' share croppers farm Me and my brother have just finished stacking hay, getting ready for winter, out there in the barn Ya know..........As I sit here, I can almost smell those hot biscuits momma just put on the plate One thing we could all count on was a hot meal at the end of the day and you had better not be late We really didn't have much of anything, as personal belongings go, but two things we had plenty of that was alot of back breaking work on that ole' farm and each of us had lots of love Daddy would get up early and walk 5 miles to town, just before the first frost every year He would buy all of us kids a brand new pair of shoes and I know he would shed a tear As he thought of so many things his family needed, but he just couldn't afford to buy As he looked at his own worn out shoes, he would say, maybe next year. it made me want to cry We wore hand me downs and homemade clothes my momma had made for us. Daddy was too proud to accept charity from anyone lncluding offers from our local church On cold Sunday mornings we would dress in our finest clothes and off to church we'd go Our worn out coats weren't much, but they were clean, and they would protect us from the cold My sisters and brother have moved on now so I am left here all alone Momma and daddy passed away a few years back and now Heaven is their new home My Momma is singing for Jesus now, I know how much she lhas always loved him I'll bet my daddy is now wearing the finest shoes ever made, and they don't have holes in them I think of all those cold winter days of hard work, that started well before daylight I wouldn't trade my dreams for anything as I sit here and think about it tonight I'm not a very smart person but, there's one thing for sure, I can say There was love in our christian family I thank God for that every day
