Story behind the song
Growing up along the Mississippi, we heard many legendary stories of river characters. This song is about the 4 stages of life of one of those characters. She is one Mrs. Hippie by the first bridge when she has her day in the sun.
Lyrics
There she was, surrounded by the water, and the river, on the run, Mrs. Hippie (let's count), two Mrs. Hippies, three Mrs. Hippies that's four s's, I, S-S-I, P-P-I, Mrs. Hippie, Mississippi.
