Bands start for many reasons: girls, drugs, free booze. Subjective Well Being merely wanted Pop Tarts.
Hi. We were Subjective Well Being, a three piece rock band from Hot Springs Village, AR. Even though we are no longer active, we are leaving this page up so that if anyone ever come across these tunes, they can still take a listen. We still check back here every once and awhile, so leave us a comment or a note and tell us what you think. Thanks for ten years of rock and roll!

Story behind the song
I wrote this riff a long time ago, back in 2003 when we were still a four piece for a record that we recorded called "Bad High School Poetry". I played it for our lead guitarist at the time and he was not impressed so I put away and we stuck with the bad pop-punk/ cock rock songs that we had convinced ourselves that were good at the time. A few years later we were working on the tracks for "Ghosts" and I played it for Russ and he seemed to dig it. So we played it through a few times and it started to come together. Like so many of our songs it really started working when Taylor came up with the drum intro, and Russ played along. It gave the song, which was originally a lot more quiet, a more driving feel. I've said it many times before and I say it again: those two are one of the best rythym sections ever. I hate my vocals on this track and wish to this day that I could do them again. The lyrics are about a guy who is self destructing and finds a girl who he thinks might be able to save him from that. Or maybe they could save each other. I can never know. It's about the closest I ever got to writing a love song in Subjective Well Being.
Lyrics
Do with me what you will Try not to breathe hold perfectly still All glory fades into dust So much time left, too little, too much All thoughts race through my mind Everyt movement catches my eye I don't need everything to be right All I need is tonight Making conversations from noise Breathing softly, moving with ease If I break your nails into a thousand pieces Let's just hope that nobody sees It's too easy to give up Please watch as I'm about to self destruct Don't be scared from what I say I definitley want you to stay.
