liberal ranting and raving, but sensitive explorations of the current American malaise
Good Without One was a drummerless and mercifully leaderless rock trio performing off the track and often humorous, often political originals and originally arranged covers. The players are George Potor, guitar and vocals, Joe DeCristopher, guitar and vocals, and Rick Totten, bass and vocals. These folks have played together in different contexts for decades, but only as this particular trio from 2003 - 2008. While the level of musicianship is high, their disdain for the trappings of rock stardom is legendary. Two of the members even remained seated throughout performances, despite no obvious physical impairments. Their drummerless approach was a novel but occasionally successful scam to get electric instruments into acoustic venues.

Story behind the song
When the President editorializes the "work" of Congress (and we use that term reluctantly) far more than any other in history, he confirms our fears that he is a power-hungry ego-maniac. But we digress.....
Lyrics
Every time they’re makin’ laws I wonder “Will I like it?” Since I’m the real Decider I can choose to strike it. Rules an’ regulations ‘R somethin’ to be chopped. Whistle-blowers burn me up; I mean they must be stopped CHORUS: Above the law, heck, I am the law; I don’t know what you think that I signed. No matter what you saw, it wasn’t what you saw; Signed, Sealed, Delivered, You’re mine. Signed, Sealed, Delivered, You’re mine. Immigration chills my gills; see the way they walk? They’re up ta somethin’ fishy; ain’t English that they talk. Pass a law, judge a case, I cannot guarantee You’ll find it in the Homeland unless it’s good fer me. CHORUS Check the Federal Register; get the latest list Of rules that I will probably ignore. Burn the Constitution to an autocratic crisp Th’ Court’ll sweep the ashes out th’ door. Seven Hunert fifty times I signed a law I hated. Then I wrote th’ reason why I’d hafta disobey it. It’s really tough to elevate substandard leg-expression; I’ll tell ya all you need to know ‘bout torture and repression. CHORUS
