After many years of playing as a solo artist, singer songwriter Micaela Kingslight decided that is was time to add a few selected musicians to her repotoire and thus in 2004, Fractal was born. The purpose of this inception was to concentrate on bringing a new excentricity to Micaela’s already poetic and soulful style of writing and to make it more mainstream as the case may be. Featuring Jeffrey Newman on the bass guitar and occasionally the sampler, Ginger Bailey on percussion, and Micaela on guitar as well as vocals, the new sound of Fractal quickly evolved. With musical styles comparative to the driving sound of Pearl Jam, and the guitar comparative to Santana, adding to that the unique vocal stylings of Micaela, it did not take long for people to take notice of this new evolution of music being created. Fractal currently has bookings all across the state and is looking to expand (as Fractals do) into new and different demographics. A winter tour is being planned as well as other “local” shows. A full length cd is in the works with hopes to release it by the holidays. For more information regarding Fractals schedule or to order a cd, chat with the band, or just to say hello, visit www.myspace.com/micaela
