This one is very nicely done. A lot of remixers would go the "Trance" route and only have intermittent hints at the original song while having some elaborate electronic beat going on in the background, trying to "Techno it up"; you, however, managed to keep the feel of the original very, very nicely. It's more like you set out to update the classic than to reimagine it, yet you still managed to add a lot of your own flavor and make it something new. Great work!

Brete, Through the years, I have collected interesting Christmas Songs. I look for originality, listenability, and a sense of humor. You have hit a home run with your version of Tchaikovsky’s, "The Sugar Plum Fairy", my friend! On a different note-With your version, one can't help wonder what a choreographer could do with this tasty morsel. I would love to see "Hip-Hop Clara Gets Her Groove Back" :) This is a treasure and a pleasure.

Someone once said something to the effect that an artist or poet is one who can sit comfortably in the middle of paradox. Here is an artist who does so musically, and does it well and engagingly. Rockers will love this, and so will hip classical music lovers. This piece is true to the original musically, but adds some electronic pizzazz! With intelligent instrument choices and a dash of humor, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s much loved ballet music The Nutcracker is brought to life in this selection from Brete’s Nutcracker Suite. Man, isn't this just incredible? Take a classic, add modern technology, taste, innovation and tremendous musical sense and you get Sugar Plum Fairy. I'm simply amazed by this result. I can't imagine what his next step will be - in any case, I can't wait for it.

Hey ya Brete. :) I'm not a big fan of house music I must admit, but seeing as your rendition of this lovely piece kept me interested all the way through - that speaks for alot! I liked the production and everything went well together.. So I can't seem to find anything else to give critique upon, other than it's house. :p So it's 5's all the way through for me. :) All the best in the competition and the future! :)

Hey Brete, I remember these from last year and becoming "MySpace" friends. Then, as now, I've always thought these are excellent work, to take on such a classic piece and breath new life in an updated format, while still keeping with the original composition, just one fantastic job. I love the techno sounds (synths work !!) and the strong backbeat, without ruining the original feel and beauty of the song. For sure, a 5 star composition, William
