I started writing this at the UK Songwriitng Festival and over the last couple of months I have been working on the song and the production.
Here I Am I thought my life was over When you cast me aside I was a waterfall of loneliness With all the tears that I cried Then I could see all the ways you made me feel small And now I affirm, I will rise over it all (So) Here I am - I found my wings Here I am - I cut the strings I don’t look back, I healed the past And I’m flying free at last... I threw away all the pieces Of the life I had before Now I’m an architect of emptiness Building myself up from the floor (But) I kept the dreams that you said would never come true Now I believe in myself and everything that I do (So) Here I am - I found my wings Here I am - I cut the strings I don’t look back, I healed the past And I’m flying free at last... I hold my life in my hands And I won’t waste another day I am a pioneer of hopefulness Searching inside to find the way I’ve found all my faith, self-respect and self-love And no matter what, I will never give up (So) Here I am - I found my wings Here I am - I cut the strings I don’t look back, I healed the past And I’m flying free at last... Now I stand on the mountain top with my flag of victory Filled with pride, cos I learned to survive, my adversity (So) Here I am - I found my wings Here I am - I cut the strings...
