D. Watts is a singer from Birmingham, Alabama. After spending 5 years of fronting cover bands, she started writing her own music. Collaborating with Birmingham’s Ben Trexel, they co-wrote her first album, My Own Way, released in July 2005. The music can best be described as soulful, modern rock with depth. D’s deep, melodic voice brings a soothing quality to alternative and adult rock sounds and her live performance is that of pure energy. In 2006, D- and Trexel began a second album in which D- changes the direction of the music from contemporary rock to Christian alternative rock. She describes the music as a personal journey that has led her back to seeking God first in her life and has reestablished a close relationship with Him. She has a desire to reach young people through her music and to be an inspiring role model. D- desires to encourage and motivate people to pursue their dreams and to live life to its fullest by making good choices. Her new album, Brand New Start, will be available in December 2006.
